My Five-Item Carry-On Rule

The rule, simply

Everything I pack has to earn its place by being at least one of five things: warm, washable, wearable-with-everything, weightless, or worth it. If an item can’t make the case, it stays home.

Fewer choices in the morning means more room for adventure by afternoon.
